Becoming a Mother for the Second Time

The only thing that can compete with the excitement of the first baby is the second baby. Let's hear about this process where we take parenting to the next level from our second-time mother user...

The excitement begins from pregnancy with the first baby…

The ultrasound counts the days, until the doctor says it's okay and you can tell at the 12th week, you ask questions patiently, sometimes you let it slip, you wait with excitement for the gender, you keep track of the weeks with applications week by week, saying sesame seeds today, lentils today, avocado today... How the birth will be is one of the most important issues... Which hospital, hospital room to decorate or not, what kind of photo to use to announce the baby, even the photo with emojis or without emojis after the birth becomes a hot topic.

And of course, shopping… Every detail in her room, the color of the walls, her furniture, her clothes, her manicure sets, her hospital discharge, her mother’s clothes, her father’s clothes are all thought out and chosen one by one…

One thinks that all these processes are important until our baby comes into the world and makes us parents :)

For months, our shoulder will be the baby’s favorite bed, and even if the baby sleeps, we won’t be able to sleep because we have to pump, burp, change diapers and feed to produce milk… Or if we are formula feeding, someone will give us millions of baby bottles to wash, but at that moment we feel like “Oh my, maybe mine will sleep. They are doomsayers, my dear” so we close our ears… Then we understand that sleeplessness is the only real necessity for the first few months…

Our first baby has a very important role because it makes us parents…

Then, over time, Google searches go from “why is my baby crying?” to “safe feeding for babies?” to “what is 2-year-old syndrome?” to nursery research questions and finally to elementary school teacher research…

At this point, your baby has already made you a parent…

This is where my life with two children began... While our sleep patterns were on track and we were thinking about whether to go to primary school or kindergarten, a surprise egg entered our lives and began to grow determinedly to turn our baby into a big sister...

Is it because we are already parents, we know the difficulties we may face, we know the solution, or is it because we trust our expertise in finding a solution, that this egg of ours has never tired us?

We neither kept track of the week and the fruit nor tried to make the doctor's appointment earlier... Time flew by while we were running after the first one and with the other daily rushes... It was the last month, I guess she didn't have anything to wear so we decided to go and see and went shopping...

Her cot, stroller, toys, wardrobe, everything she has is inherited from her sister…

We neither decorated the hospital room nor had a baby shower... When the birth started, I was trying to study for my master's degree exam in time :)

Ms. Efsun, who was born in a flash, completely opposite to her sister's birth, before even her father could enter the delivery room, joined us in all her glory...

Of course she asked a lot of questions from a place we didn't know, a parenting test was performed ✔️ she also introduced us to the difficulties we didn't experience with her sister when she came into the world ????????????‍♀️ Every birth and child is really different and unique. Still, it was extremely enjoyable to experience motherhood from a place I knew and was safe without watching baby care videos like crazy or browsing blogs... It was also great that she was number one in school so we could enjoy the snuggles ????

Our first baby made us parents, our second baby gave us permission to enjoy being parents…

Insomnia? It is included in the standard package, but knowing sleep techniques was very useful for us…

Side note: I don't know what we would do if colic came out of the package, but ????
